Willow Boutique Approved for Facade Improvement Loan

The City of Atchison’s Facade Loan Program is pleased to announce a new loan to Willow Boutique, a startup clothing retailer in downtown Atchison.

The $10,000 loan will finance an updated storefront for the Willow Boutique, to be located at 115 N 5th Street. The Willow Boutique is owned by Brian and Tracy Kane of Atchison, Kansas. The Willow Boutique also received E-Community Loan Funds to assist in financing the new venture, which is expected to open this spring.

The Facade Loan Program provides 0% interest loans, up to $20,000 per property, for building facade improvements. Loans are amortized over a period of five to seven years based on the amount borrowed. To qualify for consideration, the project must result in visible improvement of the overall facade, including, but not limited to, masonry work, storefront improvements, painting, lighting upgrades, etc. Any owner of a building located within the target area (Missouri River to 10th Street, railroad tracks to Santa Fe Street) may apply.

To learn more about the Facade Improvement Program, contact Justin Pregont with the City of Atchison at justinp@cityofatchison.com or 913-367-5506.
