Jon Schallert Brings Modified Version of His Seminar to Marion, Kansas
Over the last two years, 19 Atchison business owners and community leaders have graduated from the Destination BootCamp program in Longmont, CO. Businesses leave the workshop armed with new strategies and inspired about their business and their community.
Business expert Jon Schallert holds seven Destination BootCamps each year in Longmont, training businesses and communities how to become consumer destinations.
Recently, Jon took his show on the road to Marion, Kansas, in offering a shortened version of his regular BootCamp program. Nine Atchison locals attended the two-day Marion seminar and have since brought that knowledge and energy back to our community.
Benefits of Attending
The group that attended included Atchison retailers, service providers, real estate professionals, and community leaders.
“I have heard Jon speak 3 times now and every time I do, I come back with more good information to promote my business,” said Derek Franklin of The Hardware Store.
Jon's message focuses on challenging entrepreneurs and/or small business owners to carve out a unique position in their market and then teaches them how to draw customers from longer distances.
Juan Jorge, a regular vendor at the Atchison's Farmer's Market, found the seminar to be inspiring, yet practical. "The workshop pushed me to see myself and my business as not just another Farmer's Market vendor, by seriously thinking about and developing, my business’s unique position. He encouraged us all with practical ideas on positioning our businesses as one-of-a-kind. Excellent workshop!"
Building the Culture of Entrepreneurship
“There’s a really robust small business community here,” said Justin Pregont, Assistant City Manager. “We want our E-Community Program to help build relationships, connect small business owners to capital, provide professional development opportunities, and collectively build the confidence of the business class in this community. That’s what the E-Community Program and our participation in Destination BootCamp programming is all about.”
The Destination BootCamp experience is yet another success story for the Atchison E-Community Program. Local businesses can inquire about another Destination BootCamp opportunity by contacting Justin Pregont at justinp@cityofatchison.com.
