City of Atchison releases video explaining small business loan program

City of Atchison releases video explaining small business loan program

The City of Atchison has released a new video promoting the Atchison E-Community Small Business Loan Program. The video features recent downtown startups Muddy River Guitars, a retail guitar and music supply store located in the space above 5th Street Mercantile as well as the Sunflower, an upscale, boutique coffee shop serving local and regional . Both businesses are located in the 100 block of North 5th Street and were partially funded by E-Community loans in 2017.

Through a partnership with an organization called NetWork Kansas, the City of Atchison offers a locally controlled, revolving small business loan fund. In working with a local bank, aspiring entrepreneurs and existing small businesses in Atchison can lower their overall interest rate as they startup, expand, or acquire a small business in Atchison County.

Chris & Kim Taylor stand with Todd Gigstad (Exchange Bank) and Becky Berger (City of Atchison) at the loan closing for their acquisition of Raven Liquor, which was partially financed using E-Community Loan Funds.
