MLT Generalist

Position Overview

Atchison Hospital is looking for a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician that will be responsible for specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results. The position performs a variety of chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests and procedures and related duties, to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, following established standards and practices.

Job Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• 2-year Associate Degree or 4-year Bachelor’s Degree
• Certification with ASCP or AMT
• Will consider a candidate with education and training equivalent to 24 semester hours of science courses that include: 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology; and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination
• One to three years of experience
• Excellent organizational, verbal, written, customer relations, mathematical, analytical, and computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree
